There are so many misconceptions about mentoring and coaching and often as much poor practice as there is good. Implemented correctly the outcomes can be rapid and exceptional with the added bonus that it is reasonably cost effective. At the University of Hertfordshire, we successfully developed and delivered a number of accredited and non-accredited coaching and mentoring programmes within the education, business and voluntary sector. The training and programmes were accredited under our leadership by the Mentoring & Befriending Foundation and we regularly presented at national conferences. A breadth of knowledge and a wealth of experience using a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solutions Focussed, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) enables us to adopt the approach that best suits the needs of the individual or organisation.

A thirst for more knowledge on the subject led me to undertake a Masters degree in the subject in 2006 and my Doctorate at Oxford Brookes University in 2015.
